With over two decades of experience in education, Dr. Long-Nelson has served in diverse roles spanning from pre-K through college instruction, reading coach, professional development specialist, and administrator. Her leadership expertise was honed as a successful turnaround principal at two high-needs Dallas Independent School District campuses, where she demonstrated her ability to drive meaningful change in challenging environments.

Dr. Long-Nelson's doctoral research focused on how campus principals can build teacher capacity to increase and sustain student achievement. Through her work, she has identified four essential components for high-performing educational leaders and campuses: campus culture, instruction, data practices, and team effectiveness.
As a passionate advocate for educational equity, Dr. Long-Nelson believes in the power of collaboration and collective action to create lasting change.
